Little Rock couple gets engaged at Arkansas State Fair

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – It’s not often that you hear about proposals happening at the Arkansas State Fair, people typically come to for the rides and food, but Tionna Veasley didn’t know that she was in for much more.

“He was acting so fidgety all night,” Veasley said.

She says her fiancé had been all over the place throughout the day, so they decided to take a trip to the state fair, and right before the two got ready to leave Tony Ray popped the big question “Will you marry me” in front of the Ferris wheel.

“I just really wanted to make her smile, I felt like I was taking a step in being a man,” Ray said.

He says he knew the state fair was the perfect place to make their special moment happen, surrounded by people cheering him on.

“I hope to see that instead of the regular foolishness we hear at the fair, I would love to hear more engagements and acts of love are being shown,” Ray said.

Tionna says she never attended the fair often, but the proposal is changing that.

“I have to come back every year now just to remember, like, where it happened and what I was thinking and how suspicious I was,” Veasley said.
