    Woman dies in Monticello home fire, child taken to hospital

    MONTICELLO, Ark. – Monticello fire officials said a woman died in a mobile home fire over the weekend.

    According to the Monticello Fire Department, fire crews were called to a fire at the home on South Pine Street at 11:38 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. Pictures from the fire department show flames coming from inside the home.

    Fire officials said a woman was found in the home and was pronounced dead at the scene. Crews said they also found a child who was taken to a local hospital. The condition of the child is unknown.

    Officials have not released the woman’s identity.

    The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
