Bemidji Chamber Ambassadors congratulated Sanford Health on the recent expansion of its Heart and Vascular Center and East Lobby remodel. The expanded heart center now features a third catheterization (CATH) lab, expanded nurses station, private offices for clinicians, improved wayfinding and lobby experience for patients and additional clinic rooms for future growth.
MPCA fines Cleveland-Cliffs $16750 for wetland pollution at Virginia mine
VIRGINIA — The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency fined Cleveland-Cliffs $16,750 for polluting a nearby wetland at its Minorca Mine in Virginia last spring. In a Wednesday, July 3, news release, the MPCA reported the mine leaked wastewater, construction runoff and tailings materials across nearly a half-acre, including the wetland. The Minorca Mine is a complex of large, operating, open-pit iron mines and a facility producing pellets from taconite.

Scooter driver injured in collision with a KIA
(KNOX) – Grand Forks Police are asking the public for information about a scooter-car collision that sent the scooter driver to Altru Hospital. Officers were dispatched befor 2 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of South Washington and 28th Avenue South… where a westbound KIA was struck in the driver’s side door by a scooter that was northbound in the crosswalk.
