HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a man after a K9 unit detected narcotics in his vehicle, authorities said.On Thursday, June 27, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Deputy Jude Bonner conducted a traffic stop on a 2019 white Dodge Challenger driven by Aaron Chase Calvert for a traffic violation. Kaufman County K9 Deputy Kevin Shaw assisted in the stop, and K9 Vinnie conducted a free air sniff around the vehicle, giving a positive alert for narcotics, according to the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office.A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed suspected methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl hidden under the steering wheel column. Calvert was arrested on two counts of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance. He was transported to the Henderson County Jail, where he was arraigned by Henderson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 5 Tanya Norris, who set his bail at $200,000.
