LINCOLN, NEBRASKA (KCAU) – #3 Cedar Catholic returned to Lincoln making its 4th consecutive trip to the NSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament, but the Trojans’ season would come to a close in the Class C-2 State quarterfinals to #6 Lincoln Lutheran, 67-50.

The Trojans trailed 35-28 into halftime and couldn’t muster magic to mount a comeback as the Warriors pulled away in the fourth quarter towards victory. Alex Kuehn led Cedar Catholic with 16 points in the loss.

“One of these years real soon we’re gonna punch through and we’re gonna be State champions,” Cedar Catholic head coach Nick Haselhorst said. “They got to believe that and we’ve been knocking on the door here at Cedar Catholic for a long time and it’s inevitable. We’re going to punch through and so you know you want to light that fire and they got to believe that it’s going to be them.”

Cedar Catholic wraps up its season with a 19-7 overall record.
