SPENCER, Iowa (KCAU) — With the Clay County Fair coming up in September, The Mavericks have unfortunately been canceled due to health-related reasons.

The Mavericks will be replaced with the hit band Lonestar as the new grandstand act for Monday, Sep. 9.

Known for their biggest hits including “No News,” Lonestar has won multiple awards such as Academy Of Country Music awards for New Vocal Group in 1996, Single and Song Of The Year in 2000, and Humanitarian Of The Year in 2002. Since the formation of the band, Lonestar has sold more then ten million records, and is excited to play at the Clay County Fair.

The Clay County Fair announced in late February that The Mavericks were to perform with special guest The Jorgensens. The Jorgensens are still set to perform as planned.

Few parks and trails reopen while others require repairs

Anyone who bought a ticket and wants to enjoy Lonestar’s act can keep their tickets and attend like normal. Anyone doesn’t want to go can get a refund by emailing info@midwestix.com by Friday, Sep. 6. Any tickets redeemed will not be refunded. Organizers want to remind anyone seeking a refund that the $5 ticket handling and processing fee is non-refundable.

Other Grandstand musical performances at the Clay County Fair are Kansas , Trace Adkins , Justin Moore , Blues Traveler, and Third Eye Blind . There will also be plenty of free performances taking place at the fair’s Farmers Bank Stage.
