    2 Siouxlanders win $10,000 from scratch tickets

    CLIVE, Iowa (KCAU) — Two different Sioux County residents have both redeemed $10,000 prizes from the same scratch game this week.

    The Iowa Lottery announced that Beth Williams of Ireton won the prize from the “$100,000 Mega Crossword” scratch game. She bought the ticket at the Kwik Star on 1581 South Main Ave. in Sioux Center.

    Meanwhile, Kari Midthun of Sioux Center also won the same $10,000 prize from the same game. Her ticket was purchased at Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh on 1953 South Main Ave. in Sioux Center.

    The two stores where the winning tickets were bought are on the same street about half a mile apart.

    Williams claimed her prize Monday at the lottery regional office in Storm Lake, while Midthun claimed hers Tuesday at the same place.

    According to the Iowa Lottery, the $100,000 Mega Crossword game is a $10 scratch game that features 46 top prizes of $100,000, 92 prizes of $10,000, and overall odds of 1 in 3.29.
