    Clay County, Iowa Disaster Recovery Center changing locations

    SPENCER, Iowa (KCAU) — The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Clay County is relocating.

    The Center, currently located at the Clay County Regional Events Center Tower Gate Pavilion in Spencer, is being relocated to the Spencer City Hall Council Chambers located at 101 W. 5th St. in Spencer. The Events Center location will be closing on Saturday and the new location at City Hall will open on Monday.

    At these centers, recovery experts with FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration provide information on what services are available to flood victims as well as assisting them in completing necessary applications to get assistance.

    FEMA assistance is available in the following counties: Adair, Adams, Buena Vista, Cedar, Cherokee, Clarke, Clay Dickinson, Emmet, Harrison, Humboldt, Jasper, Lyon, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Polk, Pottawattamie, Ringgold, Shelby, Sioux, Story, Union, and Woodbury.

    You can find other Disaster Recovery Centers in the following Northwest Iowa locations:

    • Cherokee County at the Cherokee County Emergency Management building located at 322 Lake St., Suite B in Cherokee.
    • Emmet County at the St. Patrick’s Church gym located at 903 Central Ave. in Estherville.
    • Lyon County at the Forster Community Center located at 404 First Ave. in Rock Rapids.
    • O’Brien County at Sheldon City Hall located at 416 9th St. in Sheldon.
    • Sioux County at City Park Shelter House at 1013 13th Ave. in Rock Valley.
    • Woodbury County at Siouxland Regional Transit System at 6401 Gordon Dr. Sioux City.

    Disaster Recovery Centers are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. You can contact FEMA by calling 800-621-3362 or by visiting their website or downloading their app .
