Record-selling Iowa house buyer is an LLC

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The new owner of the record sale price of a $9.5 million property in Spirit Lake, Iowa, is MAC Properties LLC, according to the deed filed in Dickinson County.

The home is 25,000 square feet with eight bedrooms and 15 bathrooms and set a record sale price for Iowa when it closed on July 29, according to Christie’s International Real Estate .

The title preparer, Jeffrey E. Hiatt, is of the Clemens Law Firm in Dubuque, Iowa. A representative of the firm said Hiatt and the firm would not be able to disclose information about MAC Properties because of confidentiality.

The address of the house, called Peace Harbor L.C., is listed as 16216 (Iowa) Highway 86 and 1615 (Iowa) Highway 86, both in Spirit Lake, according to the deed. The address for MAC Properties is 16216 (Iowa) Highway 86, Spirit Lake, according to the deed.

The home is on West Lake Okoboji and was built by former Pure Fishing chief executive officer Tom Bedell, according to Christie’s. Bedell’s father Berkley founded Pure Fishing in Spirit Lake but as the Berkley Fly Company and eventually the Berkley Company.

Real estate listings include several houses priced at $1.6 million or more in the Okoboji area. Houses with lake front are listed in that higher priced range.
