First Street Reconstruction Project wraps up Phase 2

SERGEANT BLUFF, Iowa ( KCAU ) — Phase 2 of the First Street East Construction Project in Sergeant Bluff has been completed and is scheduled to be street-ready on Monday.

According to a release , the dirt contractor began grading and backfilling to ensure it was ready for opening at the beginning of the week.

The release states that First Street will be open from South Lewis Boulevard to Vandenberg/Windsor, but there will not be traffic paint striping yet. In the meantime, traffic control cones will demarcate the middle turn lanes between intersections.

There will be a street closure north of Midstates Bank so the Prairie Bluff Drive intersection can be finished. Residents of Baker Prairie Bluff must use Baker Drive to access First Street until the intersection can be opened on Wednesday.
