    Deadline for Iowa FEMA applications extended to October 22

    DES MOINES, Iowa (KCAU) — Iowans affected by the flooding that hit Siouxland this past June will now have unit October 22 to apply for FEMA assistance.

    According to a release from FEMA, homeowners and renters who were affected between June 17 and July 23 benefit from the extension.

    How South Dakotans can apply for FEMA disaster funds

    This applies to residence and businesses owners in Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Humboldt, Lyon, Monona, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Pottawattamie, Sioux, and Woodbury counties.

    FEMA states that even though the deadline has been extended, this does not mean that anyone should delay applying for FEMA.

    If you would like to apply for FEMA, you can do so by visiting their website , downloading their app , or calling them at 800-621-3362.
