BLOOMFIELD, Neb. (KCAU) – The Bloomfield Bees enter 2024 with aspirations to extend its consecutive playoff appearance streak to 37 years.

The Bees ended last season with a 34-6 loss in the first round against Howells-Dodge. Bloomfield ran for over 2,100 yards, but will look to fill the production left by Wiley Ziegler with Brock Jeannoutot and quarterback Braeden Guenther. The Bees duo combined for 725 rush yards and 11 TD’s in 2023.

Looking to move its playoff streak to 37 seasons and beyond, they know it will take everyone to keep it going.

“I think that it’s attributed to the community and the coaching staff. We have quality kids that come through the school and that consistency, I think, really helps out.” Bloomfield head coach Matt Kuchar said.

“A lot of seniors graduated. So we’ve got to just stir them in the right way. We’ve got some juniors, Owen and Brock, so we’ve got some talent coming back and we’ll be working hard.” Guenther added.

Bloomfield opens its season against defending NSAA State Champion Stanton on Friday, August 20th.
