NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KCAU) – Dakota Valley is coming off a 6-4 season and its second consecutive playoff trip in Class 11A.

At the helm for his first season is Carl Reinhardt, replacing Kenny Wilhite. Just four starters return for the Panthers, including running back Jackson Boonstra. The SZ POY nominee scored 20 touchdowns and compiled 1,181 yards.

Incorporating plenty of new faces, Reinhardt praised the leadership its returners have displayed.

“To have that camraderie with the quarterback and running back relation helps us. Some of the younger guys are going to have to learn a little bit and faster. But, Drew Lukken has really stepped up for this team and really took on leadership like no other, leading these guys through the flood and all of the off the field situations. This team has really gotten closer the last six to eight weeks.” Reinhardt said.

DV will play Week 1 on the road against Dell Rapids. Panthers looking for its first win over the Quarriers since 2020.
