    Habitat for Humanity breaks ground on 3 new houses at same time

    SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — On the corner of Myrtle Street and Military Road, a local nonprofit organization that works to help get people their own home is now working to build three new houses in Siouxland.

    For the first time ever, Siouxland Habitat for Humanity will build three consecutive lots at the same time. After completing the required application, three families were selected to be the “partner families” for the homes. The families have been working alongside Habitat for Humanity every day for their future homes.

    Executive director Shayla Becker was excited to show everyone the hard work they’ve done for the families getting a fresh start for a better future.

    “It’s a new thing for Siouxland,” Becker said. I don’t know if it’ll ever happen again but to build three simultaneous houses on three different lots all at the same time, it calls for a good celebration.”

    Habitat for Humanity says they currently no have no timeline for when the project is going to start.
