No injuries reported after Spencer garage fire; Cause under investigation

SPENCER, Iowa ( KCAU ) — More than a dozen firefighters were called to put out a garage fire that spread to other buildings in Spencer on Sunday.

According to a release, the Spencer Fire Department was called at 1:50 a.m. to the 700 block of East 3rd Stree,t where they found a detached garage that was on fire.

Firefighters immediately began working to bring the fire under control and called for more units as it continued to spread to another garage and two single-family homes.

Firefighters were on scene for more than an hour but no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
