NORFOLK, Neb. (KCAU) — The City of Norfolk has announced the start of the pickleball court construction.

According to a press release, construction on the new pickleball courts at Liberty Bell Park is set to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 3. The work is expected to continue through December.

Park visitors are advised to avoid the construction zone.

“This great new addition to Liberty Bell wouldn’t be possible without these generous contributions. This is a perfect example of the donation-grant-partnership formula we’re using to enhance our community’s parks,” said Mayor Josh Moenning.

The four pickleball courts are funded by a $300,000 donation from Mike Wingate, Tom Schueth, and Bryan Adams. The courts will be fully equipped with lighting and fencing.
