30th annual ArtSplash returning to Sioux City soon

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — The 30th annual ArtSplash is set to take place in just a couple of days here in Sioux City.

This year’s event will be held in the downtown area at the Sioux City Art Center campus. There’s expected to be a variety of artwork by local, regional, and national artists. More than 70 artist booths are expected to be set up. There will also be a kids’ fun zone for children to see balloon artists and face painters.

Officials say there will be something new at this year’s ArtSplash.

“One new thing we’re doing this year, which we’re really excited about, is offering all free art activities for kids and adults actually,” coordinator Summer Amman said. “We are introducing adult art activities this year. It’s all free, all of the art activities and yeah, we’re very thankful to our sponsors for that.”

The event takes place on Aug. 30 and Sep. 1 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on both days.
