    Morningside falls just short against Benedictine 48-45

    SIOUX CITY(Ia) KCAU – The Morningside Football team got off to a slow start against #19 Benedictine. The Mustangs trailed 28-3 in the second quarter.

    Morningside chipped away at the Ravens lead and took a 45-41 lead with just over three minutes left in the game.

    Benedictine scored a touchdown with 55 seconds left to retake the lead 48-45.

    The Mustangs drove down the field and with four seconds left, wide receiver turned quarterback, Lennx Brown was stopped at the goal line.

    Morningside loses to Benedictine 48-45.

    Lennx Brown had 11 catches for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead Morningside. Quarterback Zack Chevalier threw for 521 yards, 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in the loss

    Morningside is on the road next Saturday as they travel to take on Concordia.
