NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KCAU) – The volunteers out at McCook Lake were not working on empty stomachs. The Salvation Army of Siouxland provided lunch for the McCook Lake volunteers Saturday afternoon.

Folks were treated to Bob Roe’s Point After cheeseburgers and chicken tenders, as well as snacks and plenty of hydration options before they headed back out to clean up more flood debris.

“I feel like it’s a small thing that we can do, but we just want to be there and come alongside people, whether they’re here cleaning or they’re facing some difficulties filling their cupboards with food. We can help with that food security,” said Salvation Army of Siouxland captain Teri Ellison.

The Salvation Army of Siouxland has also partnered with the Siouxland Recovery Fund and the Community Action Agency of Siouxland to provide an individual assistance program for flood victims in Woodbury, Union, Plymouth, and Dakota counties.
