SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – This week the North High School marching band welcomed Marc Preston Moss, a drill writer for more than 300 bands throughout the country.

Moss designed and choreographed a seven-minute showpiece for the high school band, which will be played at every home football game and band competition.

After a week of practicing, the band says they have already seen improvement in their piece.

“This year’s choreography is definitely more advanced than our previous years,” said junior clarinet player Elise Johnson. “It’s a lot harder to remember each set of choreography, but getting it down is really nice.”

“I showed them some choreography for one spot in the show, there was kind of like a “what?” response,” said drill writer and show designer Marc Preston Moss. “Then we spent the next two days in class working on it, and it just got better and better and better. The amount of growth from the time they started to where they are right now is huge.”

This is the second year Moss has choreographed a set for the North High band.
