SportsZone Player of the Week: Stanton’s Becker Pohlman

STANTON, Neb. (KCAU) – Earning a big win over fellow undefeated Summerland in our SportsZone Week 4 Game of the Week, Stanton running back Becker Pohlman scored four touchdowns in the Mustangs’ 44-34 win over the bobcats on his way to cementing himself as our newest Player of the Week.

Pohlman tallied175 rush yards to go along with four touchdowns for unbeaten and top-ranked Stanton while adding 36 yards receiving. The senior leads the team in rushing and receiving through four games, contributing 505 total yards and 10 touchdowns for Stanton.

Finding success in its toughest game of the season, Pohlman and the mustangs feel the result stems from its preparation.

“I always feel like there’s always an opportunity to have a big game with our line, with our team, and with our coaches. They always put us in the right position.” Pohlman said. Just having trust and confidence in every player on the team, every coach on the team, that’s what helped us. The week of practice going into the game, I felt like we we had a really good week of practice.”

Stanton returns to action on Thursday, September 26th at Lutheran High-NE at 7:00 p.m.
