    Motion to change venue may be filed for Bloomfield murder accessory suspect

    CENTER, Neb. (KCAU) — One of two suspects in a Bloomfield, Nebraska double homicide may be seeking a change of venue.

    During a hearing on Tuesday to decide if juror information should be released, Rodney Smith – defense attorney for Kaylyne Sweazy, 27 – advised the court that a change of venue request may be filed. Her case is currently being heard in Knox County.

    After discussion, judge James Kube ruled that juror information will be released to both parties for immediate review.

    Sweazy has pleaded not guilty to one count each of accessory to a felony and tampering with evidence in connection with the deaths of Curtis Strom, 77, and William Reffett, 49. According to court documents, both Sweazy’s pre-trial hearing and jury trial were continued.

    The other suspect in the case, Alias Reed, 26, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of using a firearm to commit a felony. A preliminary hearing for Reed is set for Oct. 1 .
