Norfolk PD break up large underage party

NORFOLK, Neb (KCAU) — The Norfolk Police Department broke up a large underage party on Wednesday.

According to a press release, police responded to a loud music disturbance in the 1800 block of West Madison Avenue at 11:05 p.m. When police arrived, they found a large party with alcohol where most of the attendees were under the age of 21.

Officials reported that 54 minors in possession of alcohol citations were issued and the residents were issued citations for disturbing the peace. Hundreds of containers of alcohol were also collected as evidence.

The arriving officers called for additional assistance, and the Madison County Deputies as well as Nebraska State Troopers responded to the scene.

Norfolk Police noted that these types of investigations are very time-consuming and resource-consuming, but they may help prevent DWIs, traffic accidents, and other dangers that come with underage drinking.
