SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — The Siouxland Food & Nutrition Coalition will be hosting a Hunger Banquet at Morningside University.

According to a press release, this event aims to raise awareness about global hunger and poverty while fostering a sense of community and empathy among participants.

The Hunger Banquet will be an interactive event that brings statistics about poverty to life. Guests will be given tickets upon arrival at random. These tickets will assign guests to a high, middle, or low-income tier based on real-world income distribution.

During the event, the Siouxland Food & Nutrition Coalition aims to highlight the stark disparities in food access and living conditions faced by people living in Siouxland.
