Police: Pilot killed in small-engine plane crash near Norfolk

NORFOLK, Neb. (KCAU) — A pilot has died after a plane crashed near Norfolk Monday night.

According to the Norfolk Police Division, they were called to the scene of a reported plane crash at Karl Stefan Airport at around 7:39 p.m. Norfolk Fire & Rescue and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office were also called to the scene.

The release states that officials located a single-engine plane that had crashed about half a mile south of the runway shortly after take-off.

Police have confirmed one death in the crash.

Officials contacted federal aviation authorities who will be assisting in the investigation.
