STANTON, Neb. (KCAU) — A Norfolk man was cited for speeding Tuesday after allegedly driving on the highway at almost double the speed limit.

According to the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office , Eric McPherson, 52, was stopped for speeding on Highway 275 near Pilger, Nebraska. He was reportedly clocked at 124 mph in a 65 mph area.

When McPherson was stopped, he was allegedly driving on a two-lane road with a narrow bridge over a creek.

The sheriff’s office also noted that he was not cited for reckless driving due to Nebraska law disallowing that citation in pure speeding cases.
