    Alumni couple donates $2M to Morningside University

    SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Two Morningside University alumni from the Class of 1970 have gifted the school $2 million.

    In a release Thursday , Morningside University announced the donation from Jim and Sharon Walker. Half of the money will go towards a new School of Business building , while the other half will go into the university’s endowment.

    “The profound commitment Jim and Sharon Walker have shown to Morningside University is nothing short of extraordinary,” president Dr. Albert Mosley said in a statement in part.

    Jim and Sharon Walker have had a long history with the school, including a history of philanthropy. Jim Walker is currently a member of the Morningside University Board of Directors.

    “The Walkers are people of incredible faith and generosity,” Dr. Mosley said in a statement in part. “Their love of the Lord is evident in everything they have ever done. This latest donation extends their remarkable legacy at Morningside University, embodying loyalty and hope for the institution’s future.”

    Just last week, Morningside University announced another large gift, with $1 million going towards the establishment of the Larry and Joan Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Business.
