TIBURON, CA (KCBS RADIO) – Several Marin County high schools are closed Friday morning because of a threat of violence.

Reports said it may have started as a bomb threat to Tamalpais High School.  That prompted Tamalpais Union School District to close all of its high schools – including Redwood High School, Tamalpais High School, Archie Williams High School, San Andreas High School and Tamescal High School.

Police were seen at Tamalpais High School going building to building and walking the campus while answering questions for parents and students.

"It feels unsafe and I don't want to go to school if something like that is said," a student named Veronica told KCBS Radio.

Everyone is being asked to stay away from the campuses and to go home.

The district began notifying parents and students at around 7:30 a.m. that schools would be closed.

"We will work in partnership with the school district as well as the Central Marin Police Authority and the Mill Valley Police Department," Tiburon police captain Jarron Yee told KCBS Radio.

    The investigation continues.
