    North Texas hospitals take top spots in statewide rankings

    DALLAS (KDAF) — North Texas is showing up in the latest U.S. News and World Report rankings with five of the top 15 hospitals in the state.

    Dallas is home to two of the top three hospitals. UT Southwestern Medical Center snagged the second spot statewide (just behind Houston Methodist Hospital) and claimed the crown as the best in DFW. Hot on its heels, Baylor University Medical Center took third place in the state.

    Fort Worth and Dallas also had other top contenders with Baylor Scott and White All Saints Medical Center Fort Worth landing at 11th and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas at 13th.

    Here are the top 10 hospitals in Texas:

    • Houston Methodist Hospital (Houston)
    • UT Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas)
    • Baylor University Medical Center (Dallas)
    • Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center (Houston)
    • Memorial Hermann Hospital (Houston)
    • Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital (Houston)
    • Baylor Scott and White Medical Center-Temple (Temple)
    • Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital (The Woodlands)
    • Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital (Sugar Land)
    • St. David’s Medical Center (Austin)

    just because they take top spots doesn't mean they're worth a damned. living on the streets I had to go into one of these top spot hospitals and I was treated with such discrimination and disrespect I would have felt better and safer getting a medical exam in a dark alleyway at night in the dirtiest part of any 3rd world country by someone who never studied medicine in any way shape or form! I received respect and kindness soley from the radiology technician that night! he was the only person to remotely treat me as a human let alone human in need. let that true story sink in!
