VALLEY VIEW, TX (KDAF) – If you’re an animal lover, there’s a place just a short drive from Dallas where you can have some unique experiences and help conservation efforts.

Oak Meadow Ranch in Valley View offers some incredible encounters with their ambassador animals. Options include swimming with otters, riding water buffalo, playing with lemurs, getting a hug from a sloth, and more! All of the ambassador animals you interact with made the choice to do the interactions. If an animal didn’t seem interested in being touched it wasn’t put into the ambassador program.

The owners feel these interactions help people connect with the animals and gain the empathy for conservation efforts. They also help with education efforts.

Oak Meadow Ranch staff travel the world to work with conservation programs, researchers, and other ambassador programs to learn more and aid in their efforts. Some of the trips include stops in South Africa, Costa Rica, and Zambia to work with elephant conservation, cheetah conservation, and anti poaching efforts.
