DALLAS, TX (KDAF) – A new Dallas restaurant with a sky-high price tag aims to be the number 1 restaurant in Texas.

Nuri Steakhouse, which cost around $20 million to build, may be the priciest restaurant per square foot in Dallas. It’s name means ‘whole world’ and the owner, Wan Kim the CEO of Smoothie King, hopes its customers will see the beauty of cultural exchange through their unique menu.

The dishes are a convergence of his upbringing in Seoul, South Korea and his life now in Dallas. There are two tartares: West and East, or the option to have both on the same plate. The West is raw beef with capers, anchovies and egg yolk. The East is raw beef with fried noodles, a quail egg and yuzu ponzu. Kim says it’s like a road map of his life. Other options include a variety of steaks, Wagyu, caviar service, and Korean-style lobster.

The staff has some well-decorated members. There’s Culinary Director, Chef Minji Kim who was a Michelin Plate recipient from 2017 to 2019 and Master Sommelier Barb Werley, one of only 14 master sommeliers in Texas. She’s also one of only 34 female master sommeliers globally.

The restaurant has a back door that leads to a private room for ‘big-shots’ or for just a private party. There are also plans for a members-only private social club. The room has a private patio, dining room, and a bar. The plan is for the club to eventually have 100 to 200 members.
