DALLAS (KDAF) — When it comes to high stepping, Marvin Meda is The Best! This Dallas made history as the first ever Hispanic Head Drum Major for Jackson State University ’s Sonic Boom of the South Marching Band. Yolonda got the chance to hear about his incredible journey, and learn a few things about leading the band.

Marvin Garcia Meda’s mother was pregnant with he and his twin brother Kevin, when she left Guatemala for a better life here in the United States. He never knew that being the Head Drum Major at an HBCU would pave the way for his pre-med future.
