Rainy weekend in store for Pittsburgh area

This will not be a good weekend for outdoor activities

AccuWeather’s Joe Lunberg says the threat of rain begins Friday afternoon into Sunday and possibly Monday.

He tells The Big K Morning Show things will be spotty on Friday afternoon to start and the threat of rain will remain.

That means Pirates and Steelers fans will likely be dodging rain drops.

The Pirates begin a three-game weekend series at PNC Park against the Seattle Mariners and the Steelers host the Buffalo Bills at Acrisure Stadium.

There is the threat of thunderstorms on Friday evening, Saturday afternoon into the evening there could be a shower or thunderstorm.

Lundberg says the air mass coming through is unstable. That means rain could pop up at any time.

After Thursday, we won’t see much of the sun until Tuesday and with that will come temperatures in the low to mid 70s.
