As more school districts go back to the classroom today, teachers in one district have authorized a strike.

School is scheduled to start on Thursday in the Pine Richland School District.

But, teachers there have voted unanimously to authorize a strike.

As of now, however, the union plans to be in the classroom when students return this week.

Their contract expired in June. In the meantime, several local districts return to the classroom Tuesday.

They include: Bentworth, East Allegheny, Mt. Lebanon, Penn Hills, Shenango Area, Upper St. Clair and Woodland Hills.

Mt. Lebanon is returning to the classroom amid concerns about a spike in Covid cases.

People that are sick are asked to stay home until they go a day without a fever and their symptoms start to get better.

You’re also asked to wear a mask in public for the first five days after you start to feel better.
