KDKA Radio Editorial: A Message For Those Who Know Who Know Hard Work

Since it is an election year, politicians for national office are campaigning heavily in the Commonwealth. It is said winning Pennsylvania is key to the presidential race and success in Western PA requires the support of blue-collar voters.

As the politicians compete for that vote, they wind up in the spotlight.

But this weekend, we want to aim that spotlight where it belongs: on the people who work hard for a living: Nurses, carpenters, plumbers and electricians.

Mechanics, landscapers, first responders and janitors.

The people who toil on airport ramps, who restore power, water and sewer service and pave our parkways and streets.

And people who spend the day on their feet in restaurants and retail stores. And there are many more.

You are the people who make our lives better. Our communities cannot function without you.

On this Labor Day weekend, we say with gratitude: thank you!

You deserve a day of recognition for all you do.
