Classes at two local schools have been adjusted for two different reasons on Monday.

Students in Woodland Hills schools are learning remotely today after the district received several swatting calls.

In a message, the superintendent said the hoax calls started just after 5 a.m. While the district investigates, it is a 'Learn from Home' virtual instruction day.

Staff are staying at home as well.

Swatting is when a person makes a call to emergency services, prompting a large police presence at a location where no threat is taking place.

And, Central Catholic High School is closed today due to a significant network issue.

In a message to parents and guardians Central's principal says the school is experiencing problems with its network and numerous systems are affected including phones, email, learning platforms and the internet.

Work is underway to resolve the issue.
