A restaurant in North Versailles has been ordered closed after an inspection by the Allegheny County Health Department.

Hook Fish & Chicken on the 200 block of Loews Drive was hit with 15 violations including several considered “high-risk”.

Those “high-risk” violations include thawed tilapia sitting at 70 degrees (that product was thrown away).

Other violations include pre-cooked chicken wings in a container next to a fryer measured at 73 degrees. An employee told the inspector the wings had been sitting out for over an hour. That chicken as moved to the “only working refrigeration.”

Raw chicken and fish were found to be well above the safe temperature of 41 degrees or lower.

Employees were seen not washing their hands after operating a cell phone and before putting on new gloves, no drain stoppers in a sink, “no evidence of facility sanitizing”

The closure was ordered after an inspection on Monday and as of Tuesday morning remains active on the County’s website.
