The reviews are in after the latest visit from Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy to the Pittsburgh area.

Portnoy was in town recently taping a podcast. While in Pittsburgh, he visited seven pizza places for his “One Bite” YouTube page .

Here are the reviews uploaded to YouTube over the past 12 days.

A Slice of New York in Murrysville: 8.2

Portnoy said it was a little saucy and could’ve been an 8.1 but “it’s so crisp and kind of tight.” He added he likes pizza he can eat while driving and A Slice of New York holds up.

Bella Notte in the Strip District: 7.1

Portnoy said it’s a “cold weather” type pie and that it’s a thick pizza. It’s not his favorite kind but said it was still good.

    Ianni’s Pizzeria in Delmont: 7.7

“Tangy sauce, good crust, I like this more than I thought I was coming out of the box,” said Portnoy. “Shockingly high” score he added, because it looked “sloppy” and undercooked, but wasn’t.

Pizzeria Davide in the Strip District:

    New York-style 7.4

His favorite part of the pizza was the texture and the crispness of it, thought the pizza was a “little bland” overall “it’s a good quality pizza”, Portnoy said with management behind him.

Old world-style 8.1 but rated 7.9 due to rescore

“I much prefer this,” said Portnoy about the second style of pizza.

Iron Born Pizza in Millvale: 7.4

He tried a Detroit-style pizza and said he gave it one of the highest scores he can give that type of pizza.

Rockaway Pizzeria in White Oak (moving to Regent Square): 8.2

Portnoy found out that the folks at Rockaway and A Slice of New York are friends and pondered if he should be a “d**k head” and give one a better score than the other but decided that it was just as good and gave them an 8.2 as well.

Rockaway Pizza was ranked the 2nd best pizza in Pittsburgh during 100.7 Star’s latest Best Pizza in Pittsburgh contest .

Pizza Lupo in in Lawrenceville: 8.2

The final uploaded video from his most recent visit to Pittsburgh was at Pizza Lupo. Before he rated the pizza, Portnoy called Turner’s Tea one of the best non-alcoholic drinks available.

Portnoy said Pizza Lupo, along with A Slice of New York and Rockaway Pizza are all part of the “8.2 crew”.

“If you live in this area and haven’t tried all three of these, I don’t have respect for you as a person,” said Portnoy.
