City League Playoffs are set to begin this week but will one local high school participate following a scuffle that escalated into a benches-clearing brawl between Westinghouse and University Prep last week.

Ebony Pugh, Director of Public Relations for Pittsburgh Public Schools tells KDKA Radio that players involved in the incident are facing a one game suspension.

She says the PIAA has suspended several players for leaving the bench during the incident.

“Right now, they will be playing with a significantly reduced roster pending the appeal of this ruling,” said Pugh.

Friday's Playoff game between Westinghouse and Perry is scheduled for 7 pm.
