On 12-25-23, an unknown black male entered 777 Margaritaville Way (Margaritaville Casino) and stole a customer’s wallet. The male then left the scene driving an older model white passenger car. Shreveport Man Arrested for 5th Street Murder
Detectives have jailed a man following a north Shreveport shooting that left a man dead. On January 19, 2024, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a shooting in the 2900 block of 5th Street. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Patrol officers detained the suspect and called for investigators.
Caddo Coroner Names Shreveport’s 5th Homicide Victim of 2024
A man shot and mortally wounded in the Martin Luther King Jr. neighborhood Friday, January 19, 2024, has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office. Derrick Taylor, 42, of Peach Street in Shreveport, was shot in the abdomen around 7 p.m. following an argument at a residence in the 2900 block of 5th Street. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital where he succumbed to his wound at 7:41 p.m.

Shreveport Police Seeking Domestic Violence Suspect
On January 7,2024, just after 8:00 a.m., Shreveport Police responded to an address on Bienville Avenue on reports of domestic violence. Arriving officers made contact with the victim who advised that she returned home from work and she and her ex-boyfriend, Christopher Moran (3-13-1990), had a verbal argument and during the argument Moran punched the victim in the face, causing serious injury.
