For folks in Southwest Ohio who depend on medical marijuana, there's some exciting news. The Forest Dispensary, situated in Clermont County, has been all about ensuring its patients get comfort and convenience through medical marijuana.

That's right, The Forest is introducing the very first drive-thru for dispensaries in Southwest Ohio. As Travis Veser, the heart and soul behind the dispensary, put it, "This drive-thru is a real game-changer. It's all about getting our patients their medicine quickly and smoothly, letting them carry on with their lives."

Though The Forest just swung its doors open this past Friday, it's been bustling. They’ve been warmly welcoming registered medical marijuana patients to step inside and experience their offerings. And starting Tuesday, they’ll be geared up to take online orders, with the drive-thru gearing up for action by Thursday. Just a heads up for first-timers: you'll need to pop in for a quick registration before using the drive-thru, and all orders should be placed online before swinging by for pickup.

Travis is excited about Ohio broadening its medical marijuana horizons, though he admits it's not without its challenges. "Adding new conditions to the list? It’s a tough journey," he reflects. As of now, Ohio has a list of 26 conditions qualifying for medical marijuana. A recent addition in July was irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), though proposals for autism spectrum disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) didn’t make the cut.

But come November, Ohioans will have another big decision to make. They'll be voting on whether to give recreational marijuana the green light for adults. If it sails through, anyone over 21 could legally purchase and possess up to two and a half ounces and even have a few plants sprouting at home. On the financial side, a 10% tax would be slapped on purchases. This tax revenue? It's earmarked for administrative costs, addiction therapy, and job initiatives. Should it all go as hoped, Ohio will join the club as the 24th state to give adults the go-ahead for cannabis use.
