District 205 teacher pleads not guilty to felony theft charge
A Galesburg School District teacher charged with felony theft, six years after she pleaded guilty to similar charges in another case, is pleading not guilty. Michelle White, 54, made the plea in Knox County Court Wednesday afternoon, where she also asked for a trial by jury, and waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

MONMOUTH, ILL. (07/24/2024) The Monmouth College baseball team was honored Wednesday by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) with their sixth consecutive Team Academic Excellence Award. The 2023-24 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Awards are presented by Sports Attack and teams are required to post a GPA of at least 3.0.
Catching Up With Monmouth College Tennis Coach Brian Dahlstrom
Monmouth College men’s and women’s tennis coach, Brian Dahlstrom, took over the program from long-time coach Brian Jordan in 2022. Before coming to Monmouth, Dahlstrom was an instructor and tennis pro at the Quad City Tennis Club in Moline. Dahlstrom, also the co-owner, helped open the Quad City Tennis Club in 2001 and was the Director of Tennis for 12 years. The Quad City Tennis Club is the home club of 2017 U.S. Open runner up Madison Keys. Dahlstrom coached the United Township High School tennis teams from 1991-97. As a young player, Dahlstrom played Division I tennis at Illinois State University before transferring to St. Ambrose, where he was a NAIA National Qualifier in 1983 and 1984.

As the Grand National Championship heads to Peoria this weekend, the shocking news this morning was that championship leader and local hero Dallas Daniels (No. 32 Estenson Racing Yamaha MT-07 DT) will be unable to participate for the foreseeable future after suffering a broken femur in a training accident on Sunday. Shelter gives hope: King’s Harvest, Davenport, rescues starving dog
A starved dog in critical condition Tuesday has begun to walk and wag his tail thanks to the care at King’s Harvest Pet Rescue, Davenport. On Tuesday, someone brought the dog, wrapped in a sheet, in to the shelter, where staff discovered the dog was severely malnourished, had injuries on his back – likely from being kept in a crate a long time, staff told Our Quad Cities News – and could barely walk or lift his head.
