$30,000 In Grants Given To Address Homelessness
(Bemidji, MN) — Six organizations in Northwestern Minnesota received $30,000 in grants to support those experiencing homelessness. These grants are a part of the Racial Equity Accountability Project (REAP) which is aimed at identifying and dismantling racism within the regional homeless response system. The Headwaters Regional Development Center and the Nameless Coalition are two of the organizations who received funding. The Northwest Minnesota Foundation press release reports the Headwaters Regional Development will host a pilot project for an on-demand transit system for Conifer Community Estates in Bemidji and the Nameless Coalition will use the funding for the development of a community medicine garden at the New Day Center in Bemidji.
