Girls Flag Football Wraps Up their First Season
(ABC 6 News) — The Girls Flag Football Championships were held at TCO Stadium in Eagan this past weekend to mark the end of the season. Rosemount, Kasson-Mantorville, Pine Island, and La Crescent were the 4 core members of the league in its first year. Each team hosted a weekend of games over the summer. Abbott Northwestern named best Twin Cities hospital by U.S. News and World Report
MINNEAPOLIS — Allina Health's Abbott Northwestern Hospital has been named the best in the Twin Cities in a new ranking by U.S. News and World Report.The list ranks hospitals based on several specialties. Abbott Northwestern was nationally ranked in rehabilitation — 47th out of 4,855 hospitals. "To be nationally ranked in a specialty, a hospital must excel in caring for the sickest, most medically complex patients," U.S. News and World Report said.The south Minneapolis hospital was rated as "high performing" in cardiology, heart and vascular surgery; geriatrics; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; and pulmonology and lung surgery.Rounding out the top five hospitals...
Man jumps to his death from St. Cloud bridge
(St. Cloud MN-) The Stearns County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a man who jumped off The Veteran's Bridge over the Mississippi River in St. Cloud. At noon last Friday the St. Cloud Police Department, St. Cloud Fire Department, and Stearns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of the Veterans Bridge over the Mississippi River after receiving information an individual jumped off the bridge into the river. A St. Cloud Police Officer arrived and confirmed someone was floating south on the surface of the water before losing sight of the person. The Stearns County Sonar Team responded to the area to conduct a water search and they were able to spot a possible body around 3:22 p.m. The Stearns/Benton Dive Team located a deceased male in the river in approximately 14 feet of water. The male was later identified by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office as 56-year-old Douglas Ingram of Faribault.
