Should Colorado Ban Assault Weapons?

As a response to mass shootings in Colorado, 3 democratic lawmakers have a plan.

• a proposed ban of "assault weapons" in Colorado,
• increasing the age you can legally purchase a gun to 21,
• introducing a waiting period between buying a gun and receiving it.

Is Polis onboard? Maybe not completely

Polis refused to comment on the proposed bill to ban assault weapons according to The Colorado Sun but said:

“We’re happy to discuss other ideas from Republicans and Democrats about how we can improve gun safety in Colorado and honor our Second Amendment rights as citizens of the United States of America,” --Gov. Jared Polis told Colorado Sun.

What even counts as an assault weapon?

First, they'd need to define what an assault weapon is. Currently, it is unclear.
