Trojans softball heads to state after win over Winner

HARTFORD, S.D. (KELO) — The top-ranked West Central softball team earned a 10-0 shutout win at Hartford Wednesday.

A dominant four run fourth inning boosted the Trojan lead to 8-0. They added two more in the fifth to claim the game. Caitlyn Hoff led West Central with three out of 12 hits recorded by the Trojans compared to Winner’s two. Three players scored two runs for West Central.

Hoff allowed two hits and struck out 14.

The Trojans finished the regular season 20-0 earning the top seed at state. They’ll take on eighth seeded Elk Point-Jefferson Thursday May 30th.
