Day 1 State Track Highlights – Thursday, May 23

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The first day of the South Dakota State Track and Field Meet is completed, with several runners hitting the track in Sioux Falls.

The 4X800 meter relay and 1600 meter sprint medley were the only running event finals on Thursday.

There were several field events held, including the class ‘AA’ pole vault. Harrisburg’s Beau Karst claimed first place with a vault of 16’04.

The state track meet continues on Friday at Howard Wood Field.
