WHITESTOWN, INDIANA (KELO) — The Sioux Falls little league team suffered their first loss of the Midwest Regional with a 6-4 setback to Webb City, Missouri.

Missouri started the game strong taking advantage of two early walks to score three first inning runs.

South Dakota slowly worked back into the game. They scored two runs in the fifth to tie the contest at three.

However, Webb City would put together another threat in the home half of the fifth, scoring three runs to build a 6-3 lead.

Sioux Falls wouldn’t go down easily. A single, walk and another single scored a run and put the tying run on second with just one out.

However, a strikeout and groundout would bring the comeback attempt to an end, leaving the tying runs in scoring position.

Sioux Falls is now 2-1 in the regional. They’ll now move to loser’s bracket where they’ll play in an elimination game on Thursday, August 8. First pitch is set for noon on ESPN 2 against Iowa.
