BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — SDSU held their fall sports media day for the upcoming 2024 season and that included the back-to-back national champion football team.

SDSU lost 18 lettermen from the previous season, nine on offense and nine defense. As the Jacks gear up for the 2024 season they return 53 players, ten of those are returning starters, three on offense, five on defense, and two on special teams.

The two time champs pursue their third FCS championship, they do not fear the lost weapons on both sides of the ball.

“I know it hurt losing a lot of those seniors, a lot of great players who have played a lot of snaps here. But we’ve got a lot of guys who have been chomping at the bit, getting ready to their chance to play because they have not been able to have that chance, as the seniors did before them. So now these guys are ready to go and we’re going to have another great season,” SDSU quarterback Mark Gronowski said.

The Jackrabbits season opener will be in Stillwater, Oklahoma where they’ll face Oklahoma State on Saturday, August 31.
