MITCHELL, S.D. (KELO) — The Class ‘A’ amateur state tournament was cut down to four teams following Friday’s action.

Renner knocked off the Sioux Falls Squirrels 5-2. As a result, the Monarchs have secured their spot in Sunday’s championship game.

Aberdeen defeated Yankton 4-2. With the loss, the Trappers have been eliminated.

The final game of the day saw the Sioux Falls Brewers top Brookings 13-6. The Cub are now eliminated.

Aberdeen will now meet the Brewers Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in the first game of the day. The winner of that contest moves on to face the Squirrels later Saturday. That game will determine who takes on Renner in the championship game Sunday at noon.
